This Colnago arrived last Spring and shortly after it was shipped to its new owner on the other side of the world. I took the time to bring it to Mr.Ernesto himself (more on that story later) and to take some photos, courtesy of my lovely Sabine.
This is possibly the oldest Colnago still in existence. Frame n.26.
Note the mud guards bolts marked G for Gloria, the “E.Colnago” down tube decal and the obsessive branding of the components.
Lush vegetation and loose stones. Ticino, Southern Switzerland. The area around the Monte Generoso in the Swiss/Italian Prealps. East of Lake Como, and about 90Km North of Milano.
The humans behind this website have recently moved here from the misty hills around Lake Zurich, North of the Alps.
A state of awe and curiosity is typical of the early stages of a new life. But I suspect that this place is ridiculously awesome all the time.
Ah, and we’ve been working on a hand-made Italian bike project.
